Hi!

Morine Amutorine here, a software engineer turned data analyst, currently working with Pulse Lab Kampala.

I am passionate about analysing, visualising and communicating data. For the last 5 years, my analytics work has been dominated by social data including social media data (conducting real-time content analysis and knowledge translation research), public radio (analysing public perceptions on topics that inform the work of the SDGs) and Google search data (to reveal knowledge gaps, identify public concerns about the novel coronavirus and detect disparities in health information availability).

I am a member of Data Science Africa (DSA) as well as a research fellow with DSA’s fellowship program. My research work is aimed at uncovering opportunities and challenges associated with data sharing in Africa, and I hope to make a contribution in fostering more data driven innovation on the continent by developing a blueprint for more effective data sharing collaborations and policy frameworks to support safe and effective data use.

While data analytics is my primary role, I particularly enjoy the part of creating visuals to go with my research findings.

Here you will get to know a bit more about my work and if anything is of interest to you, be sure to get in touch.
Also, because I have realised the immense potential there is in focused conversations.
